Scouts’ archery permit, recurve bow training

The Scout Association recognises the archery permit as the official minimum qualification for anyone looking to supervise young people in archery activities. This isn’t limited to specific sections or even to leaders. In fact, anyone with the passion and commitment can step up and become an archery instructor. If you’re ready to guide young people safely and confidently in this exciting skill, this is your opportunity to get involved.

Two Days. One Qualification. A Whole New Skillset.
This action-packed, two-day course runs from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day—and yes, you’ll need to attend both days in full to earn your qualification. But once you’ve got it, you’re set! Your certification stays valid for five years and can be renewed with a simple logbook showing the use you have made of the permit.

Bring a packed lunch to keep your energy up, and don’t worry—we’ve got the hot and cold drinks covered.

Qualified—But Check Your Cover
While this award gives you the skills and recognition to instruct, it is not valid outside of the Scouts organisation.

Once you’ve completed the training, you’ll have the opportunity (entirely optional!) to join the Twang and Bang District Training Team for target sports. This is a great chance to get involved in district courses and events, support upcoming activities, and share your passion with others!
